Are you crazy enough to still want to learn?? I thought so!

This was a youtube video I made a few months ago! What do you think? Do you like seeing it here on IGTV?
Are you a rule follower or a rule breaker? When it Are you a rule follower or a rule breaker?
When it comes to lettering styles, you can break all the rules, as long as you’re intentional about. Know the rules so you can experiment ways to break them. Be intentional about the details. 👍
It’s ok if you’re a rule follower and don’t like breaking the rules, and it’s ok if you want to break all the rules! Both styles are needed!
.
I’m using @karinmarkers and my Marvy decocolor gold marker. And bristol smooth paper so my Pentel waterbrush blends the colors nicely!
Do you have a helix circle maker? It’s on my mus Do you have a helix circle maker? It’s on my must-have list of lettering supplies because it gives you quick wins like this super simple piece!🌈

Last week my mom called me and told me she had just watched my YouTube video (she’s the best). She said she needed this helix maker because she had drawn rainbows for the grandkids but she used a cup so all of the curves were the same size and they all connected in one spot. It looked super cute and totally worked but this is the best thing for making even rainbows!

What do you think? Would this be helpful to have?

These are my zebra mildliner brush pens using the fine tip.👍
How many different supplies can you count in this How many different supplies can you count in this video??

Recently I shared 10 must-have hand lettering supplies (besides pens) and this is something I made to show you how I use many of them in one piece!

This rainbow gradient washi tape is from @letteringbykaren and it’s the best!

I’m using @karinmarkers neons!! They’re the only neons I like using!

For the rest of the supplies I used, go back a couple of posts or check out my full YouTube video. I’ll link it in my stories again. I also have an Amazon list in my profile to help you find all of these easily!👍

P.S. The answer is 6! I used 6/10 supplies from my list in this video!
What are your must-have lettering supplies besides What are your must-have lettering supplies besides pens?? Do you agree with my list? What else would you add?
Stabilo has brush pens!! Have you tried them?? Tel Stabilo has brush pens!! Have you tried them?? Tell me your thoughts! (And swipe for a satisfying worksheet video👍)

Months ago, I kept hearing good things about these so I tried them and my first reaction was “they’re just ok, not worth the hype” and they got tucked in a drawer. But I pulled them out to do a review last week and my reaction was wrong! They’re so good! I was so surprised! How sad that they’ve just been sitting in my desk all this time! I would absolutely recommend these to beginners!

These aren’t the cheapest in the US but I’ve been hearing from my lettering friends on YouTube that they’re cheap and easy to find in other countries! Do you have some yet?
This is my favorite way to do watercolor lettering This is my favorite way to do watercolor lettering! Using @karinmarkers and a waterbrush to blend!

Does anyone read captions anymore? I feel like it’s been hard to keep up with writing captions!

But hey. 👋 I know it’s easy to feel like there’s so many people doing “more” than you or doing “better” than you so this is your reminder that the way you create right now is exactly right for you. This is a quote I lettered for my book to remind you but it turned out to be a necessary reminder for me when I was doubting if my book was going to be “good enough” and I realized it doesn’t matter that there are so many lettering books out there, my book has something unique because it’s from me.

The same goes for you! Whatever you’re comparing to or thinking you’re not enough, people need what you uniquely have to offer, exactly as you are right now!
