Learn hand lettering in 30 days without perfection or overwhelm
A beginner-friendly course that shows you exactly what to practice each day so you can finally create lettering you love.
No guessing. No pressure. Just simple, gentle progress.
Why does this feel so hard when it’s supposed to be fun?
You started hand lettering because it looked calming, creative, and joyful… but somehow it turned into another thing you feel behind on.
Does this sound familiar?
- You don’t have hours a day, just small pockets of time
- You want to practice hand lettering, but you’re never sure what to work on
- You’re tired of worksheets that never turn into real projects
- You are overwhelmed by all the things you think you “should” practice
- You want to create hand lettering that feels unique to you
- You trace a few letters and still don’t know how to create something on your own
- Deep down, you feel like you’re somehow doing creativity wrong
And that’s the sneaky part.
It’s not that you lack talent, patience, or discipline.
It’s that no one ever showed you a way to learn lettering that fits into real life… with limited time, limited energy, and zero interest in being perfect.
A way that doesn’t stop at practice, but actually shows you how to use what you’re learning.
So you end up stuck between worksheets and a blank page, wondering why something that’s supposed to feel calming… doesn’t.
When creativity feels confusing instead of calming, it’s easy to assume the problem is you.
But the problem was never you.
You don’t need more inspiration. You need a clear, gentle path forward.

What if hand lettering felt calm instead of stressful?
Imagine this instead:
- You sit down knowing exactly what to practice
- You finish a page and think, “Wait… I made that?”
- Your journal starts filling up with real lettering… not just drills
- You stop waiting until you’re “good enough” to create
- You actually look forward to picking up your pen
This is what happens when creativity matters more than perfection.
I started with messy letters and no clue what I was doing…
The first time I picked up a brush pen, I thought, “This will be easy with the right tools!”
Spoiler: it wasn’t.
I traced letters, watched tutorials, and practiced for hours… and still felt stuck. My strokes were shaky. My letters didn’t match. And I wondered if I’d ever be able to create something I actually liked.

Progress didn’t come from talent or fancy pens.
It came from gentle repetition, small daily steps, and learning the right skills in order.
That’s exactly why I created a path I wish I’d had at the beginning. A simple, step-by-step way to go from feeling frustrated with blank pages… to confidently filling your journal with projects you love.
Even if your lettering feels clumsy or frustrating now, you can get to a place where creating is relaxing, satisfying, and fun… without guessing what to practice and without the pressure of perfection.
This is where Hand Lettering for Beginners: 30 Day Course comes in. A clear, beginner-friendly path that shows you exactly what to practice each day and how to use it in real projects, one gentle, doable step at a time.

WHY THIS COURSE WORKS:
“
What Past students are saying:
“I’m excited about this class for several reasons. I like that everything I need is gathered together in one place, complete with a checklist.”
“What a beautiful, positive, powerful way to write affirmations and inspiring words/quotes! I feel incredibly blessed to have found this course, thank you!”
“I wanted to get better at lettering and have something to guide me and hold me accountable… because I wasn’t doing it on my own, even though I have the supplies and your book. I liked the clear expectations for each day, the videos were helpful, but I didn’t feel pressure if I had a busy day and couldn’t get to it. It got me to practice more, which is how we get better!”

Oh hey! I’m Sarah!
✨ I can’t wait to be your lettering friend. ✨
I’m a hand lettering artist, creative journaler, mom, and former high school teacher. I know what it’s like to want to create beautiful things without knowing where to begin.
I started hand lettering in 2016 to help me get through a tough time and it’s continued to help me (and others) over the years. I teach beginners how to build confidence with their pens, not pressure themselves into quitting. I believe your journal should be a safe space, not a performance.
And that belief is exactly why I created this course.
The Workbook that Keeps You out of Overwhelm
One of the most important parts of this course isn’t just the videos… it’s the workbook that guides you through all 30 days.
Inside the course, you’ll get a single, all-inclusive digital workbook designed to remove confusion and decision fatigue so you can focus on actually creating.
What makes this workbook different:
- A 30-Day Master Plan right at the front, so you can see:
- Exactly how long each day’s video takes
- What skill you’re practicing
- Which workbook pages go with each day
- Every worksheet is organized by day, so you’re never wondering:
“Am I on the right page?” or “Did I miss something?” - One complete file, not dozens of scattered downloads
(No clutter. No guessing where things are saved. No printing chaos.) - Practice pages and creative prompts so you can trace and start filling your journal with real projects
You can print the workbook at home if you’d like, use it digitally, or mix and match, whatever works best for you.
Prefer a physical book? That’s an option too.
If you love learning with pen and paper, there’s an optional printed version of the workbook available. It’s the same 93-page workbook, just professionally printed and shipped to you.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The physical workbook is a separate purchase and is printed through Lulu, a high-quality printer I personally use and trust. The price is under $15 and covers printing. Shipping and printing is paid directly through Lulu.
Everything is already included digitally inside the course so this is optional. Maybe you have your own way of printing it and that’s great. You might love the printed version because it’s spiral bound at the top (for lefties and righties), printed on paper I’ve tested with my brush pens, and easy to jump in to where you left off even after a busy week.
You’ll find the link to order the physical workbook inside the course dashboard (and in your welcome email), so you can decide if and when it’s right for you.
No pressure. Just a learning experience that’s actually organized and designed for real life.

Why Now?
This course isn’t going anywhere.
There’s no cart countdown. No “last chance” timer. No pressure to rush.
But here’s what is true:
Every time you think, “I’ll start when things calm down” or “I’ll come back to this later,” another season passes where your creativity stays on the back burner.
Not because you don’t care, but because it never quite feels like the right time.
Hand lettering doesn’t require a big life overhaul.
It just requires a gentle decision to begin.
And right now, you already have what you need: a desire to create, a few small pockets of time, and a curiosity that hasn’t gone away.
This course is designed to meet you exactly where you are, not where you think you should be.
You don’t need to wait until you’re more confident.
You don’t need to wait until you have more time.
You don’t need to wait until you feel “ready.”
You can choose to start now.
Slowly, imperfectly, and in a way that actually fits your life.
Because the real cost isn’t buying a course you don’t finish… it’s continuing to believe that your creativity can wait.

Take a look inside:
Designed to fit into real life
This course isn’t about keeping up or doing everything perfectly.
The total course time is 6.5 hours. It’s organized into 30 simple, bite-sized days. The average daily time is about 13 minutes (some days are less, some are more).
It’s not meant to be done all at once or even on consecutive days. You really can finish it in 30 days, but it’s ok if that’s over 3 months.
Everything is organized so you always know what day you’re on, what to practice, and how long it will take. You can move at your own pace, take breaks when life gets busy, and jump back in without feeling lost.
No rushing. No falling behind. No overwhelm. Just steady, creative progress that fits into your life.
and I’d be honored to go on this journey with you.

Why This Course Is Different
Most beginner hand lettering courses focus on endless worksheets (I used to!) and unstructured videos… lots of practice, but no clear plan to actually use what you’re learning.
This course was designed differently and that’s on purpose.
- A clear 30-day path (not endless content)
You always know what to practice each day and how long it will take. - One organized workbook (not worksheet clutter)
Everything lives in a single, easy-to-follow workbook instead of dozens of downloads. - The Fill Your Journal Method
Each lesson includes a simple project so you start creating real pages right away. Move beyond your tracing practice. - An optional physical workbook
No at home printing marathon required. Get the workbook professionally printed with a top spiral binding (available separately through Lulu). - A doable investment
$127 total is about $4.23 a day for 30 days of creative momentum.
This isn’t about doing more or going faster.
It’s about having a gentle, organized path so you can invest in your creativity a few minutes at a time. Not someday, but now.
Why use a hand lettering journal?
“
Sarah has helped me to feel more confident.
“I love calligraphy, but I’ve struggled with being confident in my lettering. I tend to see the flaws in my lettering and compare it to everyone else’s lettering. Sarah has helped me to feel more confident in using my own style and has helped me to stop pointing out the flaws in my own lettering. Once again, thank you so much!”
-KAELYN

The “confidence promise”
I am confident that you will love this course. Of all the thousands of students I have taught, I have never had anyone tell me that it didn’t work for them. However, I stand by my “confidence promise” that if you have gone through all of the modules and it didn’t work for you, you can send me an email and I promise to do what I can to make it right. Even if that means I give you a private, one-on-one session to answer all of your questions.
